Staff Appraisal

This week we had are Appraisals. Well me being me I'm blowing my trumpet...It went something along the lines of the following.......

Can always be relied on to complete her tasks, has worked within Fashions and the stocktake . I have full knowledge of the Health and Safety issues on her department.
She is very polite- likes to solve problems and customer as well as staff issues am well respected by other managers and staff- she can also deal with Head office in a professional manner.
She is very flexible- worked weekends to cover Supervisor absence, with additional hours being done over the telesales period. Time keeping is exceptional and has had a 100% attendance for work.
She is a fully trained receptionist, she can train others with patience and understanding . I also got asked if I would consider being a supervisor , but I have had to say no for the time being ,Stef needs to be that little bit older before I can think of taking up that sort of position again......
So what do you think good or what and yes I can happily say I was chuffed with my report, well done me........

Caledonian Challenge

Jamie is busy preparing for his weekend to do with the challenge that he is doing in July. This weekend is basically to asses the teachers that are taking the lads on the challenge, it will be basic mountaineering and also canoeing.we are lucky that we don't actually have to pay for this weekend, they will be gone for 3days of outdoor fun in Wales all that wonderfull fresh air, cold winds blowing and very cold water....Rather them than me.
I must admit i am a little anxious about him doing this challenge, he is not exactly the largest of teenagers and perhaps i am a little protective, but all i can say after watching him play Rugby for the last 7yrs i really should have more faith.....
Jamie can't wait the only thing he was at all worried about was the thought of having to go into caves, but we have been assured they are not doing that. This i am very gratefull for as i really don't like the thought of him going into caves and tunnels etc.

Happy Mothers Day

With it being Mothers Day, a day we mums are to be spoiled, the husbands helping out and the kids doing breakfast for you. I got the following day..........

Jamie comes in, Hi mum can I have a bacon butty for breakfast
Me... yep that's ok
he goes down makes his butty not one for me , no just one for himself, stef gives me my pressie of which I got a new pair of earrings and a DVD, this actually came from both of them , which suddenly prompts Jamie to remember it's Mothers Day and wishes me a good one.

We then all toddle of to rugby, yes I still have to go, it's raining so I get cold, wet and end up looking like a drowned rat. But hey its our day and I'm with my kids, I should be sat at home with my feet up not having to cook and still not getting over a major hangover from Friday night (buts that another story).
Andy saves the day, he comes home with a great bunch of flowers that are now in the lounge pride of place on my sideboard for me to look at.With that I had better get down to it and cook the Sunday lunch, so how was your Mothers Day. Hope everyone has a good as day as me. I would have it no other way.......

new trip

Jamie has only been home just over a week and again he is off on another trip, he has been put forward to go on the Caladonian Challenge 2006. It is a fantastic trip so who was i to say "NO".The expedition in july he will be going up to Scotland and canoeing for 4days through Loch Shiel and the Shiel River. He will then have a 4day mountaineering expedition including the ascent of Ben Nevis. Wow what a trip, they didn't put those type of trips togehter when i was at school.
We have been told that this will put them in good stead for the trip they are planning next year. "yep another one i ask myself, this one will be to Canada and canoeing possibly through the rockies.
With that thought in mind i don't think i can give my 2nd job up just yet.......

Memetic

i got this from Len so decided to have a go,
List 10 things you want to say to people you know, but you never will, for whatever reason. Don't say who they are. Use each person only once......

1..I do have a life, just remember that when you ask me to do something for you.....
2..it's a pity you didn't listen when you were drunk...
3..you start off with good intentions, but always end up slipping....
4..i am not your wallet.
5..i hope you feel happy with yourself for being such a bully.
6..don't take the piss out of my good nature.
7..what did i do to be treated like that by you.
8..why don't you go to hell as that is where you belong.
9..if you think you can do better then you try.
10..if life had only been different, then it would be easier now.

In the post

When arriving home tonight after picking Steph up from school, I got the post as usual, exiting yep, there was the usual yucky bills , the horrible bank statement that you dread opening and then a small package from pedigree chum.
Ok I thought , more junk for the dogs, but maybe a money off voucher. Well if you know your breeds of dogs I have a 5yr old boxer called Tyson who seems to drool or slobber you to death, especially if he has had a hard run. Now we have got used to this but to some the sight of him coming pounding towards you , white frothy slobber coming from the mouth is enough for you to turn and run. If you have ever watched the film "Turner and Hooch". Need I say more . That is the image of Tyson.
Sorry getting back to the point. In the package I just couldn't believe it . A bright cloth with the words blazoned all over it.......SLOBBER CLOTH......Well they didn't need to tell me I already knew that i was in need of one but hey thanks for the free gift.... just don't tell Tyson he has a drool problem........

Weekend

We got Jaime off on time Saturday eve, he was so exited and he should have arrived at lunchtime today, It felt weird seeing him off sitting on the coach knowing he had such a hell of a long laborious journey infront of him, still what a thrill for him to go skiing for a whole week . I hate to admit but i'm a little jealous, it's just not a thing I could afford for me to do now.
Today Andy and I went to look for a new bed, a big decision, so it needed both of us to choose. We knew we wanted pine but to the design we were not to sure, we have found one we like and it should be delivered in April. We have gone for one that is slightly ornate but not over the top, while we were there we heard this cute boy of about 4 having a conversation with his parents, didn't we giggle

Boy... MUM< MUM< MUUUUUUMMMM
BOy.... it's a baby bath .... it's a baby bath.
what the little boy was so proudly pointing at was a bidet.

The mother looked at her husband and went a slight shade of red, with me and Andy having a quiet chucke to ourselves, oh the innocence of young kids, i would have liked to have the mum's explanation to that one......

one day to go

It is nearly time for Jamie to go on his school ski trip, i have finished the shopping trip at long last and the clothes are are washed and ready to pack. He is going on Saturday and then will back the following Sunday.
It looks like a fantastic place.....staying in a chateau in the Aosta Valley in Italy hopefully he will bring some fantastic photos that i can put up as i have just bought him a digital camera to take.
He has been banned from going to rugby practice tonight as i really don't want any injuries this close to him going.... Here's hoping he has a brill time...
