Well folks the time has come, I'm on the 8.50am flight tommorow morning to New York to see my very good friend Samantha and family. This is just a quick note as i will have to be up at 3am to catch the 4am coach up to Heathrow.
The last time i saw Samantha was at her wedding in Chicago where i did a quick jaunt over just for the weekend so i could go.
The house is all set ready for me to leave, the hopefully capable Andy in charge of dogs and kids, the freezer is full and most of the washing done.He has full instructions of what to do, but knowing him the house will still run like clockwork. The kids, he is fine with ,the dogs i'm not to sure, Tyson is still poorly and we have had several more visits to the vet, more tablets and more money, hopefully with the new prognosis he should now be on the mend, with another visit due when i get back.
So its time to sign off and get a little sleep before the adventure begins so i will see you all in a week unless i can manage to do a quick blogg from the states.

Wey hey we won
What a great day we had today, the lads actually won a game of rugby today. It was a perfect morning the sun was shining and all the lads decided today was the day they were going to win.
Well if you knew our track record (non existant) today was exeptional. Last year it took all of the season and on the very last match they won. So we are allready 5weeks into the season and although we have scored at least one try against the other teams , we have basically been hammered.
Andy was going to take this season off from being coach but unfortunately he has had to go back to coaching this team. I am not sure if they did it for him, or for themselves but i know in my household tonight there is one happy father and son . Andy was more happy as the club we played was his old rugby club and the one that finished his career. So with a big smile on my face as a proud mum of the winning team i end my blog tonight.

one week to go
I only have one week to go before my trip to New York to see my friend Samantha.I also saw my friend Chris who goes back to sea next week. I shall not see him again for another six months, but have been given orders to give Samantha a big hug from him when I see her next week. These are two of my friends who I have told you about before way back in the nautical college days as well as Len who Andy and are hoping to get together with next month.
Samantha has given me my list as to what she wants me to bring over, so tommorow i shall do a quick stint to the shops to get packets of fruit gums and fruit pastills, custard powder, dolly mixtures etc.It doesn't seem to be , however long you have lived out of the country you still can't beat some things that are British.

Wisdom
An old farmer in Florida had owned a large farm for several years.
He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees.
The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.
As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.
He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end of the pond.
One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"
The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator."
Moral: Old age and cunning will triumph over youth and enthusiasm every time.

MY TRIP
It is now only 16 days untill i go to New York for the week, I haven't seen my friend Samantha since last April when i went to Chicago for the wedding. She now has a little girl called Amelie who was born in July. It will be great to see them again and i can't wait for the girlie shopping trips, maybe a bit of sight seeing, but definately the shops.
Poor Andy has got the week off to look after the kids and the dogs. I think he is quite looking forward to this, exept for the dog part, don't get me wrong he does love the dogs but i am the main person for walks and feeds and so on. I think Jamie will be doing rather a lot of walking that week. I was very helpfull when picking my time to go, i chose 1/2 term so the kids will be at home, at least most of the clubs they go to wiil be on hols too, no school runs etc, the down side of course the dreaded doorbell will never stop ringing as the rest of their friends are off too. I no doubt, will think of Andy while i am off happily visiting whithout a housefull of kids.

four stages in life
I think this is fun so i thought i would give you my version
Four stages of life
------------------
1...you start off believing in Santa.
2...You don't believe in Santa.
3...You are Santa.
4...You look like Santa.
It is one of the ways to look at life. On another note my lovely hubby Andy has now after much nagging has worked out how to put a photo on my blog, so with baited breath i shall try and nag him tommorow night and get him to teach me.No doubt with my womanly ways i shall win.

great truths of kids
1....No matter how hard you try ,you cannot baptise a cat.
2...When your mum is mad at your dad, do not let her brush your hair.
3...If your sister hits you, don't hit back. They always catch the second person.
4...Never ask your 4yr old brother to hold a tomatoe.
5...You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6...Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7...Never hold a dust-buster and a cat at the same time.
8.You can't hide a piece of brocoli in a glass of milk.
9...Don't wear polks dot knickers under white shorts.
10..The best place to be when you are sad is nanny or grandads lap.
I had such a bad week last week that my mate Doug sent me lots of these , so sorry but i shall inflict them on you.

Great truths about growing old
1... Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2...Forget the health food. I need all the preseravatives i can get.
3... When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you are down there.
4...You are getting older when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair,as you did from a roller coaster.
5...It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bother to ask you.
6...Time is a great healer, but a lousy beautician.
7...Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

my promise
My washing has now arrived and Andy true to his word has now plumbed it in and the first load is going strong.I was very good i did make him a cup of coffee when he got in, and then he got to work.He is still on his promise of the take out tonight plus a dvd that i got today. He is now looking at me with that smile on his face so i think a little more is asked for (but that is for us to know).
Jamie's cough is now much better and Stephanie has returned from her school trip with lots of lovely dirty clothes,She went camping with the school for a couple of nights, it was such a shame as the weather has been lousy and the poor kids had to stay in tents , so you can imagine the state she has come back in. I can see all this weekend will be washing and ironing (well Andy ironing) i get the better deal. Then on Sunday Jamie has another rugby match and so 22 shirts will be arriving home to be lovingly washed and ironed ready for the next one.Lets hope they win this weekend as last weelend they got duly thrashed.
